Pittsburgh International Airport – Pittsburgh, PA Bad Egg Restaurant
Introduction
Mintropy, LLC was engaged to provide Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPF) engineering services for the addition of a new Bad Egg Restaurant 3,850 Sq. Ft. at General Pittsburgh International Airport terminal. The project scope involved providing new Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and Fire Protection systems to support the proposed space layout. Mintropy coordinated with the architect and owner for the design and layout of the bar, including utility connection.
Key Features
Mechanical
- Provide new HVAC/RTU systems to serve renovated spaces.
- Work with an approved vendor on hood exhaust fan and make-up air design with integrated cooling. (equipment specified/provided by others)
- Engineer new gas distribution, exhaust, and general exhaust as required.
- Provide new natural gas service to new HVAC equipment.
Electrical
- Electrical circuiting for lighting, general receptacle, kitchen equipment, mechanical equipment, plumbing equipment, specialty equipment, etc.
- Lighting fixtures, Lighting Control –provided in accordance with industry standards and energy code requirements.
- Egress Lighting and Photometric calculations performed for egress lighting using lighting software such as Agi32 and/or Visual to meet code requirements.
Plumbing
- Sanitary drainage and vent system.
- Domestic water (cold and hot) system design
- Engineer new water/sanitary distribution, and recirculation system as required, for kitchen/bar loads.
- Natural gas distribution piping shall be provided.
Fire protection
- Indicate FP zone outlines / hazard zone classification requirements for general layout.
