Casitas on Park – Tucson, AZ
Introduction
Mintropy, LLC has been engaged to provide electrical engineering services for a parking lot development, which spans approximately 16,500 Sq. Ft. and accommodates 38-40 parking spaces. The scope of work includes the design and documentation of electrical power distribution systems and site lighting for the parking lot, with a focus on supporting electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The project aims to ensure that the parking lot is equipped with both efficient electrical infrastructure and lighting that meets regulatory standards, enhancing the overall functionality and safety of the site.
Mintropy provided comprehensive services to support permit acquisition and construction engineering documents, including detailed plans for electrical power distribution and lighting design. This includes the design of the incoming electrical service system, which is 240/120V 1-phase, 3-wire, and the design of electrical panels that accommodate the power demands of the parking lot lighting and EV charging stations. Furthermore, Mintropy provided lighting design and layout, ensuring compliance with city/county codes and meeting required foot-candle levels for adequate illumination. The integration of a lighting control system was also designed to enhance energy efficiency and functionality.
The project is contingent upon the completion of zoning, utility, and site plans by other parties. Mintropy assisted in coordinating all relevant utility connections and capacities with the electric utility company. There was be no interior work or demolition, and the project scope was to design and implementation of exterior electrical systems, including new service lines, transformers, distribution panels, and electrical circuiting for the proposed loads.
