Introduction

Mintropy, LLC. provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering services for the renovation of approximately 3,400 Sq. Ft. of restaurant space. This included the design and integration of new MEP systems to accommodate the specific needs of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with local codes and optimizing system performance.

Key Features

Mechanical

• Engineered new HVAC/RTU systems for the renovated restaurant space.
• Designed new ductwork distribution to serve dining areas, kitchen, and common spaces.
• Worked with approved vendors for hood exhaust fan and make-up air design.
• Engineered individual table exhaust systems for Korean BBQ.
• Designed new toilet exhaust and general exhaust systems with required distribution.
• Engineered gas distribution for kitchen equipment and HVAC units.
• Localized control systems for HVAC operations.

Electrical

• Designed power distribution systems, including service entrance and panelboards, to meet the needs of general receptacles, mechanical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment.
• Provided electrical circuiting for lighting, receptacles, and specialty equipment.
• Developed lighting and control systems, including LED fixtures for general and egress lighting, and lighting control systems to meet energy code requirements.
• Performed photometric calculations for egress lighting to ensure compliance with code.
• (ADD ALT 1) Performed load calculations and coordinated with utilities for new electrical service.
• Provided rough-in layout for phone, data, and internet outlets in coordination with the owner/architect.

Plumbing

• Designed sanitary drainage and vent systems connected to existing sanitary stubs.
• Engineered new domestic hot water systems and recirculation systems as required.
• Provided riser diagrams for permitting purposes.
• Connected the domestic water system to existing services for new plumbing fixtures.

Fire Alarm System

• Provided design for a complete addressable fire alarm system, including control panels, annunciator panels, initiation devices, and notification devices.

Summary

The renovation project focused on designing MEP systems for a restaurant, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and gas distribution. Mintropy, LLC. collaborated with the architect and other stakeholders to provide efficient, code-compliant systems, including custom designs for kitchen exhaust, individual table exhaust for Korean BBQ, and domestic water systems.
