Center for Green Technology

Introduction

The Center for Green Technology renovation project was a challenging but successful undertaking for Mintropy MEP Company. The project involved providing new HVAC and controls systems for the existing Chicago Center for Green Technology. The facility encompasses 34,000-square-feet of LEED Platinum-certified building located in Chicago’s East Garfield Park Community built to showcase green technologies. The facility was the first municipal and Brownfield site to win a LEED Platinum award. Mintropy’s expertise in building systems ensured that the project was completed on time and within budget, and the finished product met all safety and code requirements. The team’s efforts played a crucial role in the successful completion of the renovation project, which helped to improve the overall functionality and comfort of the facility. Furthermore, the building’s LEED Platinum certification was maintained by the new HVAC and controls systems. The project was a great example of Mintropy’s ability to renovate and upgrade existing building to meet the latest energy efficiency standards, while preserving their green credentials.
